“They call it the best show on Earth for a reason.' After taking the field for the Orioles' home opener, Tyler Wells, Adley Rutschman and Austin Voth participated in a unique Baltimore doubleheader. They saw Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.

participated in a unique Baltimore doubleheader Friday: Orioles game at Camden Yards in the afternoon and a Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band concert at CFG Bank Arena in the evening.

“Part of the joy of the E Street Band experience is sharing their magic with people who otherwise might not know the music. And to fully understand Bruce’s legacy, you just have to see him live,” Vertlieb, 40, said. “After a six-year hiatus, it is incredibly special to experience a show with people that you care about. I was moved and grateful that they were all willing and happy to go.”

Wells said he initially thought Springsteen was ad-libbing the Baltimore line to play to the local crowd. Until the fans rocked back. “I need to dig further into him and listen more to his music and figure out all of his lyrics,” he said. “That definitely intrigued me, just going to that concert. Made me want to learn more about him.”“Honestly, that was more impressive than anything. You see a 73-year-old guy up there performing nonstop, all the songs from a long setlist, and you’re just sitting there in awe, almost, of what he’s able to do,” Rutschman said. “And everyone that he’s with is just go, go, go, go, go.

Rutschman and Wells stayed for over an hour, leaving after 14 songs and after Springsteen delivered a soliloquy about his life before playing, “Last Man Standing,” something Rutschman called, “inspirational.” Rutschman was hoping to hear “Dancing in the Dark,” but was told it wasn’t coming until the encore.“We had to leave just because we had to get some sleep and come in . But it was one of those things that you kind of get a little bit of FOMO, fear of missing out,” Wells said.
