To celebrate National Children’s Gardening Week, Barton Grange Garden Centre is hosting two special workshops to encourage kids to explore the natural world 🪴🐛
On Thursday 1 June, there is a Make Your Own Miniature Garden event where children can dig in to create their own green display from plants and recycled materials. It’s billed as a great chance for little ones to get their hands dirty and let their imaginations run wild.
In the Wild Workshops: Critter Time Garden Special with Steven Wild on Friday 2 June, children can get up close with millipedes, centipedes, frogs and mice. Organisers say this session will give aspiring David Attenboroughs the opportunity to use scientific equipment to learn all about little garden visitors.
Barton Grange Events Organiser Georgina Jackson said: “Our half-term workshops are designed to inspire children to connect with nature and are a great way to introduce little ones to gardening for the first time. We hope the sessions will help to create a new crop of young gardeners.” Suitable for children aged three plus, Make Your Own Miniature Garden is priced at £10 per child and Critter Time is £20 per child with a minimum age of five. Children must be accompanied by an adult.National Children’s Gardening Week celebrates the fun that gardens hold for kids and aims to encourage greater involvement through projects and activities.
