House prices are on the up, but there are still some good deals to be had
Nationally house prices might be coming down but the East Midlands continues to buck the trend, with increases continuing. According to Rightmove, during the last year, prices inwere 6% up on the previous year and 15% up on 2020 when the average house price was £220,540.
Nationally, the price of property coming on the market fell by an average of 0.2% this July, marginally below the 0% norm for this time of year, as new sellers temper their price expectations in response to rising mortgage costs. However, demand is still strong and there are good deals to be had. A spokesperson for Rightmove said:"The continuing twists and turns of persistent inflation and higher mortgage rates have posed some additional challenges for the market. Agents report that some movers are pausing until there is more certainty that mortgage rates have stabilised, as well as reviewing how higher costs affect their plans.
"However, there remains a large volume of motivated buyers who can factor rate rises into their budgets and are continuing to enquire about homes for sale, which is keeping the market functioning, albeit now with lower sales levels than at this time in 2019.
There are some good deals to be had in Nottinghamshire though, and we've selected some that might be worth a look.his house in Kimberley is on the market for £50,000.
