The two La Liga clubs are yet to give up hope and have fresh wind under their sails thanks to a Madrid court ruling.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have won a key battle in their fight to keep the European Super League alive - and FIFA and UEFA now face an anxious wait ahead of a major ruling in December.
The widespread withdrawal from invited clubs came after UEFA and FIFA both threatened heavy sanctions against any club who took part. The Super League and its backers A22 argued they were breaking competition law by doing so and a final decision from the European Court of Justice was expected in the spring but didn't arrive.
