A five-year-old girl was laid to rest in a pink coffin painted with a rainbow and stars today after she died of Strep A. ‘Bright and talented’ Stella-Lily McCorkindale died last week from an illness linked to the bacterial infection.Multicoloured balloons were released into the sky as a large crowd gathered in Belfast for Stella’s funeral today.
Floral tributes, included ones shaped as an angel and a teddy bear, were placed outside her grandmother’s home in the north of the city ahead of the funeral. More than one hundred people stood outside the terraced house as Stella-Lily’s coffin was taken outside after a funeral gathering, with several mourners wearing rainbow coloured ties as they said farewell.
