. The game is currently only available through digital distribution, but the upcoming Xbox and PS5 Deluxe Editions include physical copies. Both console versions are playable on disk. However, while the PS5 version only needs two disks, the Series X/S release comes on four. Larian initially intended to release it on three disks, but the game is slightly too big to fit.
The Xbox retail version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will indeed have 4 discs, since we’re 500mb over the limit for 3. Only option would have been to cut some content out but that didn’t make sense, so confirming 4. Updating here:According to Larian Studios’ director of publishing, Michael Douse, the game was just 500 megabytes, half a gigabyte, over the limit. However, compressing it further would have meant cutting content, which obviously wouldn’t make sense., and fans can pre-order it now for $79.99.
