Former UK member of Parliament Peter Hain is calling on more governments across the world to act against global management consultancy firm, Bain and Company.

The UK government won't be doing business with controversial management consultancy, Bain and Company for the next three years. Former UK Cabinet Minister, Lord Peter Hain discussed this with eNCA's Rofhiwa Madzena. Courtesy ofJOHANNESBURG -

This follows the decision by the UK government to ban the company from doing business with it for three years. He is also calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to also act against the firm. Hain contributed to the UK's decision by writing to the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson requesting that the government freeze all contracts with the company."I think it's an important start, no government has done this yet and I hope that the American government will follow."

"I think governments needs to provide a lead on this, and they have to make it clear to businesses across the world that if they do things unlawful and unethical and unprofessional as Bain did in SA," he said. "Then they will feel the pain and the heat because what's the point on having anti-corruption laws if you don't enforce them?"
