The ceremony saw African football legends such as Serge Aurier, Aliou Cissé, Joseph Yobo, and Mustapha Hadji assist in the draw. \Hosts Morocco were placed in Group A alongside Mali, Zambia, and Comoros.
Record seven-time winners Egypt find themselves in Group B with Southern African trio South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe. Group C sees Nigeria face off against Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania, while 2021 champions Senegal lead Group D against Democratic Republic of Congo, Benin, and Botswana. \Algeria, winners in 2019, are in Group E with Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan. Defending champions Cote d'Ivoire are in Group F, where they encounter old rivals and five-time winners Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed sides, will advance to the Round of 16. The tournament is scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, across six host cities and nine stadiums in Morocco.
