"Let's face the problem of South Africa. The problem is, the level of our PSL is not high enough," the Belgian said last week.
On Saturday, the 70-year-old took the opportunity to clarify his words and issued an apology to the nation. "I think we are on the right way, but there is still a lot of work to do. I hope that this country will be with us to change some things, things that we have to change," he said.
