Following burning confidence from the Fair Trade Independent Tobacco Association that it had convinced the High Court in Pretoria that government’s tobacco sales ban was unlawful and irrational last week,The matter was dismissed by the High Court in Pretoria on Friday.in the outcome, following oral arguments heard by the full bench in court, this outcome has dealt a heavy blow for smokers.

Government refused to provide the minutes but agreed to furnish Fita and the court with a record of decision, which it did earlier this month.“inexplicable” delay in British American Tobacco South Africa’s This matter was suppose to be heard on 30 June. On Friday morning however, the company said in a statement that it had received an email communicating the new dates.
