"Please pray for this family who lost everything today. We know that this will be a huge loss for them, and the community and our hearts are heavy as first responders when we have to respond to incidents like this," the police department said on Facebook. Investigators believe the explosions that neighbors heard could have been the sounds of glass panels shattering during the fire.
They are still working to determine the exact cause of the fire but suspect it began with an outdoor grill in the family’s backyard.
