Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Studio Day displays six new floats for this year's parade at their facility in Moonachie.
Being a balloon handler in the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade might be a cool gig, and anyone riding on a float might feel like a star.The dragon was created at Macy’s Parade Studio in Moonachie and joins five other new floats displayed during studio day at the shop. It was unveiled Tuesday during a sneak peek before the big day.
“Our driving unit is our mechanical dragon, which is a 50-foot-long unit that will be driving serpentine going down through the streets of New York City,” said Will Coss, Executive Producer Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We’ve been working long and hard on all of these units, so big day for us,” added Coss.“We do great balloons. We do great floats.
The parade studio worked with Nickelodeon on the giant balloon and float combo. The children’s television star Baby Shark will hover and swim over a float carrying Mommy Shark, Daddy Shark, Grandma Shark, and Grandpa Shark.The other new floats are Geoffrey’s Dazzling Dance Party for Toys “R” Us, People of Firsts Light by Macy’s, Supersized Slumber by Netflix, and The Wondership by Wonder.Supersized Slumber based on Netflix movie Slumberland.
