Raccoons from Colorado thrive in care of Lancaster wildlife center, still need placement The fate of two raccoons from Colorado remains in question after a wildlife center in Lancaster helped care for the animals.
The raccoons were taken to the Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, where the team raised the raccoons and named them John and Denver. However, the team recently learned that Colorado Parks & Wildlife won't allow the raccoons back into the state due to regulations that require rehabilitated animals be released within several miles of the same location they were found.
