The Friday morning sessions at Calderside Academy are free

Pupils at a high school in South Lanarkshire are set to host their own Bookbug sessions for babies and toddlers.

The Bookbug programme is an initiative set up by the Scottish Book Trust with the help of the Scottish Government.Get all the news from your area – as well as features, entertainment, sport and the latest on Lanarkshire’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic – straight to your fingertips, 24/7. They are 30 minutes long and will take place in the library in the school, which is situated in the town’s Calder Street. Activities will include story, song and rhyme games for babies, toddlers, preschool children and their families.

Two teachers from Calderside attended training courses on delivering the Bookbug sessions, who in turn trained a number of the S6 pupils. They are all looking forward to the sessions beginning.
