The British Airways aircraft was forced to land in Manchester on Friday
A flight was forced to land some 260 miles away from its original destination amid reports of 'smoke and fumes in the cockpit'. The British Airways flight from London Heathrow was due to arrive at Aberdeen International Airport at 10.15am today, Friday. However, according to data on live air traffic site Flightradar, the aircraft was diverted to Manchester Airport at around 10am.
This is an unofficial report, and the cause for diversion is not yet known, however, the ECHO has approached British Airways for comment.
