Edmonton police said two victims sustained serious injuries in the 2013 incident, one of them “life-altering”
A B.C. Mountie has been charged with assault in relation to a stabbing at outside an Edmonton fast-food restaurant six years ago.
The RCMP said in a statement that the junior constable is currently posted to the detachment in Langley, and the incident dates back to before he joined the RCMP. The Edmonton Police Service said two victims sustained serious injuries, one of them “life-altering,” in a fight that broke out after a man allegedly approached a car waiting at a McDonald’s drive-thru, then fled the scene after witnesses intervened.
It said 31-year-old Benjamen Kozlovich was arrested Tuesday in Chilliwack and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The RCMP said it has launched an internal investigation to review Kozlovich’s employment status, adding he completed training in January 2018 and is a probationary member.The alleged incident occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day in 2013.
