RCMP say a man from Lake Country, B.C., has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife three years ago.
Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey of the Kelowna regional detachment says Lambertus Westervelt is scheduled to make a court appearance on Monday.
O'Donaghey says in a release investigators initially believed Arlene Westervelt drowned on June 26, 2016, while canoeing in Okanagan Lake following a picnic along the shore.O'Donaghey says an extensive search by fire and rescue personnel failed to locate Westervelt's body, which was found the next day by an RCMP dive team.
