A civil claim alleges Trinity Christian Centre Society was negligent in allowing the principal access to the child.

A B.C. man has filed suit in B.C. Supreme Court alleging a Victoria religious society is liable for sexual abuse he alleges he suffered at the hands of the society’s school principal.

The May 30 notice of civil claim filed by Henry Lawrence Fisher alleges Trinity Christian Centre Society was responsible for Trinity Christian School. The court documents allege the society was negligent in allowing Mark Langley to have a position of power, allowing him to allegedly to prey on the child. The claim alleged Langley negligently inflicted pain and suffering, mental suffering, humiliation and degradation on the child “solely for the purpose of his own gratification.

The claim asserts the defendant allegedly provided Langley with the opportunity and means to encounter the plaintiff. The suit asserts the society failed to protect the child, failed to investigate Langley’s background, failed to have an abuse reporting system, fostered a system where reporting would be considered wrong and failed to take steps to investigate once it became “aware of his shortcomings.”

The claim asserts Fisher has suffered physical pain; post traumatic stress disorder; mental anguish, nervous shock, humiliation and degradation; shame, low self-esteem, and feelings of worthlessness; depression; addiction; suicidal ideation; mistrust of authority figures; nightmares; mistrust of men and multiple other damages.None of the allegations have been proven in court.A Mark Langley is listed working at another school but request there were also not returned.
