Azeem Rafiq says cricket will have to confront the issues raised by two imminent reports into racism at Yorkshire – but is beginning to heal after the turmoil of the last five years
He added: “There is an ICEC [Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket, announced two years ago] report that is imminent.A number of Yorkshire players, including former England stars Tim Bresnan and Matthew Hoggard, as well as ex-captain and director of cricket Andrew Gale, withdrew from the CDC process.
“When I went into that room at DCMS [Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport], my life changed,” Rafiq says, insisting he never thought it would be this long or arduous a process.
