Specialist contractors have removed the top of the encapsulation to reveal the further damage within the crumbling relic.

The Station Hotel is now completely unrecognisable after workers stripped the top off the outer protective shell.

Fresh haunting images from the crumbling gable end of the building have shown the damage from within, with the removed scaffolding unveiling charred remains underneath. It comes after they told Ayrshire Live that lengthy works would take into the New Year, giving an estimated finish date of January 10.
