The award-winning play Île is coming to the Baxter Theatre before heading to the National Arts Festival and Edinburgh Fringe:
Sophie Joans’ captivating one-woman show, Île , is returning to Cape Town for its final staging before heading to the National Arts Festival in Makhanda and the Edinburgh Fringe Fest.
The play follows an 18-year-old girl who embarks on a trip to Mauritius to connect with her extended family and escape her overbearing mother. Written and performed by Joans, and directed by Rob van Vuuren, Île has received widespread critical acclaim for its humour, honesty and poignancy.
