The positivity and joy they bring to the job add to the overall good feelings we like to maintain in our stores.
Nationwide, only 21.3% of Americans with disabilities age 16 and older are working or actively looking for work, compared to 67.1% of Americans without disabilities the same ages, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By considering candidates with autism, businesses can close that gap. Employers can bring diversity and inclusion to their teams and have the potential to find highly intelligent, skilled and productive employees who may have been overlooked by competitors.
