. Now it’s time for something new to add to the list. The dealer has just announced it’s importing a road-legal track car to the UK called the Spartan. This is a product of good ol’ Aussie engineering, thanks to two Sydney-based twins, Nick and Peter Pap.
That spec is built around a default Honda 2.4-litre K24 motor mounted in the middle, which in naturally aspirated form produces 275hp and equates to 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds. However, there’s a Rotrex supercharger available to magnify that to 400hp. As you can imagine in such a lightweight car, it produces a decidedly spicy power-to-weight ratio of 570hp per tonne and 0-62mph 2.5 seconds. The six-speed manual gearbox is Honda’s, but there’s the option of a Quaife ‘box if you wish.
