Only three months prior to the Feb. 17 attack, the Morice River drill site had been subject to a coordinated illegal blockade that briefly stranded as many as 500 workers at the camp until they were freed by what the RCMP called a “” mission to dismantle protest camps and clear obstructions, some of which appear to have been inflicted with commandeered heavy equipment.
