'Attack is back' for Cavalry after Mason, Camargo re-sign with CPL club CavsFC CanPL

“The attack is back,” said Cavalry GM/head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. gleefully when asked about the week that’s been for moves by his club.

“Both Sergio and Joe give us excellent attacking depth and quality,” Wheeldon said. “At one point or another, they have both led our club in goal scoring, and I know that they are eager to add more this coming season. As one of the Cavs’ inaugural players having signed in 2019, Camargo will be suiting up for his fifth season with the club. In 2022, he scored two goals and provided one assist before being ruled out due to injury. “Ali and Myer added significant goal contributions last year,” Wheeldon said. “The facts are that Ali had the most on the team with 11 and Myer added the most goals of all competitors — with three — in the Canadian Championship.”“My hope is that the pieces that we have from last year, as well as the one or two new ones, we can continue to gel,” added Camargo. “We can create a more consistent attack like we know we’re capable of.
