Resource enforcement officers arrested five people for Atlantic salmon poaching in New Perlican and near Stoneville. FileNEW PERLICAN, N.L. — Resource enforcement officers arrested five people in two separate Atlantic salmon poaching incidents in New Perlican and near Stoneville.
When officers retrieved the 80-foot-long gill net, it contained one Atlantic salmon which was still alive, it was then released.On Aug. 3, officers retrieved a net in inland waters near Stoneville that contained 19 dead Atlantic salmon. The net measured 85 feet and had completely spanned the river.
