The musical guests aren’t mainstream names—yet—but they’re a marker of the way that Cadwallader is an active part of the community that “stans” him. “At Mugler,” he said backstage, “we respect real talent and we want to push people up. When you realize that you have the power to bring people up to where they deserve to be, that you can help, then you do it.”
As for the clothes? Cadwallader looked to Mugler’s full sartorial legacy to put together the collaboration with H&M. Perhaps most notable was the introduction of proper menswear—although the designer knows that people of all genders are already wearing his Mugler line.
