The latest incidents saw a teenage girl attacked with a broken bottle in a school playground and a man stabbed in the neck outside a shopping centre
There have been at least eleven stabbings in Greater Manchester in just 17 days. The Manchester Evening News has reported on 11 incidents between January 7 and 24.
Rylan Cullen, 21, of Falcon Drive, Little Hulton was charged with three counts of S18 assault; and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and will appear at Bolton Crown Court on February 9. The following day, at around 2pm on January 11, a 21-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries following a reported stabbing in the Heys Road area of Prestwich. Police said enquiries are still ongoing into this incident.
Two men have since been charged - Lewis Barton, 20, of Churchill Drive, Bolton was charged with wounding with intent, two counts of assault and possession of a bladed article. Levi Wharmby, 21, of Croft Avenue, Bolton was charged with wounding with intent and two counts of assault. Both will appear next at Bolton Crown Court on February 20.
