Floods and landslides have killed at least 11 people in the Philippines, after a fierce tropical storm dumped heavy rain on the country for a second day. Tropical Storm Yagi made landfall in northeastern Aurora province, some seven hours or over 350km away from capital Manila.
Thousands of Filipinos in at least four regions also took temporary shelter in evacuation centres. The Philippines is Southeast Asia's most typhoon-prone country, hit with an average of 20 typhoons each year. Buena Bernal reports.
