Although there was a tense moment when Patches got momentarily spooked, Langohr remained calm and hung on. Later, she posed on Patches for family photos and took a short ride around the grounds of the Horseshoe J Dude Ranch.Article contentLangohr grew up on a farm with several horses outside of Alymer. Her son said she “always loved horses.” She and her husband, Ken Langohr, ran a plumbing business while raising four sons and three daughters.
She continued riding once in a while and 10 years ago had the opportunity to ride at an equine theme park in Kentucky. That was it until this weekend. Staff at the Horseshoe J Dude Ranch said they were delighted to help her ride again, and even provided the experience for free. Ranch hand Jayden Pilkey said it was “amazing and sweet” to see the elderly woman mount up one more time. “I’m so honoured to be part of it,” she said.
