Odorizzi has a strong rebound and leads the Astros past the Rangers.
ARLINGTON, TX - APRIL 26: Yuli Gurriel #10 and teammate Kyle Tucker #30 of the Houston Astros celebrate Tuckers two-run home run against the Texas Rangers during the fourth inning at Globe Life Field on April 26, 2022 in Arlington, Texas.ARLINGTON — It had been six days since Jake Odorizzi’s six-run implosion had Astros fans grimacing through a painstaking first inning, and only two-thirds of one at that. Visions of the previous Wednesday threatened in the periphery as he took the mound Tuesday.
Odorizzi yielded his lone hit in the bottom of the inning when he hung a 2-2 splitter over the plate and García hammered it into the left field bleachers to tie the game. Tuesday was Odorizzi’s longest outing since July 9, 2021, when he pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits in Houston’s 4-0 loss to the Yankees.
