Marking Anderson’s thematic return to the US in over a decade, the pic is set in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. The full synopsis reads: The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.The French Dispatch filmmaker produced the pic with his regular partners Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson. Focus has set a limited stateside release for June 16 before kicking the film wide on June 23. Focus previously teamed with Anderson and Rales’s Indian Paintbrush onAs with all Anderson productions, the cast includes a star-studded squad of high-profile acting talent, including Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, and Edward Norton.
Bill Murray was also due to star but reportedly caught Covid just before cameras rolled last year and was replaced by Carrell.
