Alberta Premier Danielle Smith speaks during a press conference marking the beginning of the 2023 provincial election on May 1.Smith has been accused of injecting herself in the legal process during her time in the premier’s office byand promising to intercede on his behalf. Smith said she heeded advice from Justice Minister Tyler Shandro and did not push the matter further.
The UCP leader was not made available for comment on Tuesday. A statement from the party said she had a packed schedule “and will be talking with voters directly,” while also taking part in an evening town hall. “I think that Danielle Smith has to make herself available to speak about her conduct with respect to the Pawlowski case,” said Notley. “She can do that at any time. She’s hiding because her record on this is deeply disturbing to the vast majority of Albertans.”Article contentThe ThinkHQ poll showed a dead heat between the two parties as their campaigns get out of the blocks.
“The UCP are comfortably sitting with about probably 39 , the NDP are sitting with, not necessarily comfortably but certainly leaning their way, in 37,” said Henry. “It’s really these toss-up seats, there’s about 11 of them, that are going to be the difference.”
