NASA is going to try again. 🚀

The Artemis launch will feature the SLS rocket boosting the crew-capable Orion capsule into orbit around the moon in the first of what the U.S. space agency described as a “series of increasingly complex missions” to build a long-term presence on the moon, a critical step in eventual travels to Mars.

The Artemis mission is set to last 42 days, 3 hours and 20 minutes, traveling more than 1.3 million miles. It will reenter at Mach 32 – that’s 24,500 mph – with splashdown on Oct. 10 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego.NASA has released a new video explain the mission and its complex nature.
