Leandro Trossard was rewarded with a start for the Gunners after netting the winning goal against Aston Villa last weekend, sending Gabriel Martinelli to the bench. It was the Gunners who got the breakthrough in the 38th minute when Bukayo Saka sent Kai Havertz through on goal, with the German lobbing the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the season.
Brighton got their reward in the 57th minute when Joao Pedro made it two goals in two games with a lovely finish after Raya had initially saved Minteh's powerful strike.
