A judge spared the trio jail saying they were 'young people trying to make their way in the world'
A trio who treated Manchester city centre as a racetrack, chasing each other at speeds 'exceeding 100mph' have avoided jail.
Prosecuting, Miss Claire Brocklebank said the group did stop at each junction but then 'sped' off again before they were eventually stopped by police on Wharfside Way. She described them as being 'apologetic' at the scene and of previous good character. Representing herself, Farnworth, 27, tearfully described how she acts as a carer for her mother. "I understand what I did was very stupid but it was four years ago," she told the court.
"But it also means that the members of the public with whom you could've come into contact with were in all likelihood key workers."
