The Hawks say they are working to arrest more suspects linked to the theft of R36 million from the bank account of a car crash victim. ECRNewsWatch KZN
They were taken into custody in different provinces, including KwaZulu-Natal.
The Hawk's Matimba Maluleke says they believe the mastermind to be 29-year-old FNB employee Thabiso Metenda.Maluleke says Metenda, who is based in Limpopo, allegedly gained access to the victim's profile and proceeded to empty the bank account.He died in a car accident more than a year ago. "Among the arrested suspects is a police official stationed at SAPS Makhado. The takedown operation is still continuing."
