A man has been arrested after suspected drugs were allegedly found inside a sock he was carrying. On Tuesday, August 22, officers inside a police van notices two men acting suspiciously near a set of traffic lights on Radford Boulevard, Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police approached two men and carried out a search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. One of the men was reportedly carrying a black sock, which allegedly contained three wraps of heroin.A 24-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. A quantity of cash and three mobile phones were also seized.

. The arrest was made by the Operation Compass team, which helps tackle drug-related crimes in Nottingham. Inspector John Lees, who oversees the team, said: “This was an excellent piece of police work by the officers and has allowed us to recover a quantity of suspected harmful Class A drugs."
