Police rushed to an address in Cheshire
An armed siege in a Cheshire town on New Year's Eve ended peacefully - despite the stand-off lasting "several hours".
He eventually came out of the address on Sutton Way after officers engaged with him. The 33-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery and affray, Cheshire Live reports A second man, aged 32, was also arrested on suspicion of robbery. Both have since been released on conditional bail.
