Houston police received a 911 call around 3:13 a.m. about an assault in progress at an apartment in the 150 block of NorthPark Plaza, Executive Assistant Chief Larry Satterwhite said.A Houston police officer wasn't injured Saturday morning after shooting an armed man who was fleeing a crime scene.Houston police officers could hear screaming when they arrived from a man and woman in the apartment.
While the officers were trying to open the door, the man began scaling down from a third-floor balcony. An officer below spotted the man climbing down with a gun in his hand. The officer ordered the man to stop and drop the gun, but he refused. After the shooting, officers opened the apartment door and found the woman with visible injuries to her arm.
