A police dog unit combed through the front gardens of two houses on the hunt for a knifeman after a young man was stabbed on a busy main road.
A considerable police presence also remained on West Derby Road, where a dozen police officers guarded the cordon which blocked off a number of stores including a card and balloon shop, a Marie Curie, a Chinese takeaway restaurant and a vape shop. A punter in the same pub told the ECHO there has been more crime in the area since the Tuebrook Police Station, situated just a minute walk from where the incident happened, was closed. He added: "The area is almost unrecognisable to what it used to be."
A spokesperson for the Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, who represent Broadgreen Hospital, told the ECHO shortly after 3pm: "The cordon has now been lifted and all entrances to the hospital are open as normal."
