Wet Willie singer Jimmy Hall offers the first taste of “Ready Now,” his first solo album of original material since 2007.
Are you ready to jump for joy? Jimmy Hall is, and the Wet Willie front man is sharing the happiness on the first single from an upcoming solo album co-produced by bluesman Joe Bonamassa.
The upbeat track “Jumpin’ For Joy” can be heard now on YouTube and other streaming outlets. The video features Hall walking the streets of downtown Nashville – singing, shouting and playing harmonica, all to the confusion, amusement and occasional participation of the tourists passing by. It’s the first taste of the “Ready Now,” Hall’s first solo album of original material since 2007. It’s co-produced by star blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith, and is being released on Bonamassa’s label, Keeping the Blues Alive.
According to information released by the label, Bonamassa co-wrote five songs on the album and plays on several of the tunes, including “Jumpin’ For Joy.” Warren Haynes of Gov’t Mule plays slide guitar on the title track and Jared James Nichols solos on “Without Your Love.”through the labelNote to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
