These are the 161 Sault addresses chosen to receive new sidewalks and curbs (and maybe wheelchair ramps) in 2023
The City of Sault Ste. Marie has released details of this year's curb and sidewalk construction program.
Your tax dollars will provide $517,425 for 1446 square metres of sidewalks, 341 linear metres of curb and 12 accessibility ramps. "Typically, the program has been compiled from requests from councillors, residents and staff each year," says Susan Hamilton Beach, director of public works."It is necessary to prioritize the requests and normally not all requests can be accommodated."
The planned work represents 0.3 per cent of sidewalks maintained by the city, and 0.1 per cent of curbs. Here, as prepared by the City of Sault Ste. Marie, is the list of lucky 2023 recipients of municipal concrete:
