“We’re still getting estimates on how bad some of that stuff is, but all of our buildings on shore took some kind of hit,” said Power, especially the restaurant at the Stanley Bridge wharf. This year the company was on track to produce about 25 million oysters, said Power, noting there has been a growing demand for oysters.
“Some of them have hardships at home, you know, with no power, or property damage, and … we wanted to make sure people had some time to deal with that and were prepared to come back to work.” “That storm surge was so powerful, it’s still a big question mark, I guess on whether cages would survive that kind of surging tides.”
