Antony and Marcus Rashford were among the goals as Manchester United advanced to the Carabao Cup semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic. SLint MORE:
United coach Erik ten Hag gave a debut to 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo in midfield, while Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Fred and Anthony Elanga were also recalled.
United did get the opening goal just after the 20-minute mark when Antony collected a pass from Fred before finding the top corner with a superb strike from the edge of the box. While Charlton were unable to get their foot on the ball, the hosts nearly bagged a second goal ten minutes before the break when Fred rattled the frame of the goal with a curling free-kick.
United nearly got the second goal soon after when Scott McTominay sent Garnacho through on goal, but the young Argentine winger's strike was kept out by goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer.
