Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has taken to social media to respond to his goalscoring return to the squad. The message comes as speculation over his future continues to swirl. Liverpool have been heavily linked with a summer move for the England man . Talks between the two clubs over a potential move broke down earlier in the summer due to Newcastle’s desire to include Reds’ defender Jarell Quansah in the deal.
He was named in the starting lineup for the club’s pre-season friendly vs Girona. And he wasted no time in making an impact. Newcastle raced into a 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the game, and Gordon was on hand two minutes later to extend that lead further. The Magpies went on to win 4-0.
