The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns, 105-93, on Tuesday night to take a 2-0 lead in their playoff series.
It was another impressive win for Minnesota despite the fact that Anthony Edwards struggled from the floor, only making three of 12 shots. Instead, Edwards found other ways to affect the outcome with a game-high eight assists. Then on the defensive end he matched Rudy Gobert's excellent play with three steals and one block of his own.
And what a block it was. With the Timberwolves up just one point midway through the third quarter, Bradley Beal tried a left-handed layup that Edwards swatted out of bounds. Beal, who finished with 14 points on 6-of-17 shooting in 42 minutes, ended up on the ground where Edwards gave him a quick stare-down.Edwards then went from mean-mugging to high-fiving as he dapped up referee Zach Zarba, who was just trying to signal where the ball would be taken out of bounds.
