BREAKING: Janine Butcher finally got her comeuppance in EastEnders as she was arrested for perverting the course of justice shortly after Mick Carter’s tragic disappearance.
From planting bottles of alcohol on her to having baby Annie almost taken away, not to mention framing her for a near-fatal car crash, Janine has stopped at nothing in a bid to alienate her love rival from Mick.
The landlord reunited with beloved ex-wife Linda, before the two of them hopped in a vehicle and sped after Janine, who had done a runner, but tragedy struck soon afterwards, with the car going into the sea. Boxing Day’s outing of the BBC One soap picked up hours later, with the search and rescue teams having failed to locate missing Mick.
Shirley, however, saw through the schemer’s lies, as she tried to choke Janine to death, and Linda made it quite clear that she was willing to sit back and watch the action unfold, but Ollie’s sudden presence prompted Shirl to stop what she was doing.
