Multiple high school football games have been disrupted by violent incidents during Alabama's 2023 prep football opening weekend.
Mobile County schools superintendent Chresal Threadgill and athletic director Brad Lowell were on the field.“It was just a group of kids that started running and that is it,” Lowell said. “There’s no safety issues right now and we had to make sure everything was safe in order to get the game back started.”
Blount principal Jerome Woods said it “was a simple fight between some kids” and there was no gunfire. “It scared some people and when they started running, everybody else followed suit.”Hazel Green and Sparkman game a “major disruption”A personal foul penalty against Moody for a late hit out of bounds against Pell City touched off a scuffle between the two teams near the Pell City sideline.
