“There are so many kids growing up in the Valley and being able to see themselves in adults … is important and it's going to create comfortable spaces for them and confidence in who they are as well.” Drag shows are a form of entertainment that involves performers dressing up in often elaborate costumes and make-up and lip-synching and dancing. Shows often feature comedy sketches and audience interaction. Participation is all inclusive and not restricted to sexual orientation or specific genders.
The latest Wolfville show, held on Feb. 11, was called Born This Gay and was a celebration of queer love. “I said, ‘oh my goodness, we should be Sandy and Danny together and it would be funny’ and they said, ‘you know what, I'm doing a show, why don't you come do it?’ And that’s literally how it happened,” said Lynn.
“I'm not trans. But my whole life, I've always thought, ‘if I was a guy, I would grow a beard,’ and I get to put one on now and I get to put on the outfits,” Lynn said.Ash E.
